1. AdmissionAdmission to the school is possible by placing the child on the school's
waiting list. The waiting list for the next
academic year starts on the first day of October (i.e., if your child will be eligible to attend school in
September
2013, you will need to register your child's name in the waiting list starting
October 1st, 2012). Children must be toilet trained in order to attend St. Mary's Richard Tufenkian Pre-School.
The following are the guidelines for the 2013-2014 program year for enrolling children in age appropriate classroom settings.
- A child must be 3 years old by October 1, 2013, to be admitted and placed into 3 year old groups.
- A child must be 4 years old by October 1, 2013 to be admitted and placed into 4 year old groups.
- A child must be 5 years old by October 1, 2013, to be admitted and placed into Kindergarten.
Class assignments will be made by the School Administration with teacher recommendations. The School Administration reserves the right to make changes to class composition, including but not limited to, re-assigning children to other groups.
Each child will have a separate file containing enrollment, health and other confidential information. These files will be kept in locked cabinets in the School office, to ensure confidentiality. Only parents, the child's teachers and the administration will have access to these files except as otherwise required by law.
The School reserves the right to admit and/or to dis-enroll any student for any reason in its sole discretion.

2. Waiting List
Admission to the school is possible by placing the child on the school's waiting list. The waiting list for
registration for the next academic year starts on the first day of October (i.e., if your child will be eligible to
attend school in August/September 2013, you will need to register your child's name in the waiting list starting
October 1st , 2012). Please note that the waiting list is valid for one year. If your child is not admitted due to
limited space, you will need to renew his/her name on the waiting list for the following year.
Registration priority is given to:
- Siblings of current students in Tufenkian Preschool or Chamlian School.
- Parents employed in Prelacy wide Armenian Organizations.
Guidelines for enrolling children in age appropriate classroom settings.

(Children must be potty trained when starting school).
- A child must be 4 years old by October 1, 2013, to be admitted and placed into 4 year old groups.

School Visit and Orientation
- Visiting the school serves as an orientation / open house and is possible by making an appointment from
October 1st to the end of February. During the time of registration (months of March & April), no visits
will be scheduled.
Registration Procedures:
- Registration will take place in the months of March/April by appointment.
- Only children who are placed on the waiting list will be considered for registration.
- Children with priority registration will be notified and registered first. Then, based on the order of
waiting list, registration will continue for other children.
- Parents will be notified by telephone. The school will make 2 attempts to contact the parents. If
unsuccessful, the registration will proceed to the next child on the waiting list.
- Registration and other fees are approved by the Western Prelacy Board of Regents and are non-
refundable. These fees must be paid at the time of registration.
- The monthly tuition is also approved by the Western Prelacy Board of Regents and is based on a 10
month contract.
- Child's Birth Certificate (original) and Immunization Records must be presented at the time of registration.
