St. Mary's Richard Tufenkian Preschool & Kindergarten (“the School,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at www.tufenkianpreschool.com (the “Site”), how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you.
By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide directly
We collect information you voluntarily submit through the Site, including:
- Waiting List & Admission Registration: the child's first, middle, and last name and date of birth; parent/guardian name(s); daytime and alternate phone numbers; email address; information about siblings who attend or have attended our school; church or community affiliation; and any comments or additional details you choose to provide.
- Contact Form: your first and last name, mailing address, phone number(s), email address, message content, and any files you choose to attach.
- Newsletter / Mailing List: your email address when you subscribe to receive updates.
Because we are an early-childhood school, some of the information you provide concerns children. This information is submitted by a parent or legal guardian for the purpose of enrollment and school communications—see “Children's Privacy” below.
b. Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages, and the dates and times of your visits. We use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use the Site. For details, please see our Cookie Policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process and manage waiting list and admission registrations;
- Respond to your inquiries, requests, and messages;
- Communicate with you about admissions, school events, programs, and other school-related matters;
- Send newsletters and updates to individuals who have subscribed;
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
- Comply with applicable laws and protect the rights, safety, and property of the School, our families, and others.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: with trusted vendors who perform services on our behalf—such as website hosting, email delivery, and website analytics (e.g., Google Analytics)—and who are permitted to use the information only to provide those services.
- Within the School: with authorized School administrators, staff, and board members who need the information to carry out school operations and admissions.
- Legal requirements: when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the safety of any person.
4. Children's Privacy
Our Site is directed to parents, guardians, and prospective and current families—not to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. Information about a child is provided to us by a parent or legal guardian in connection with admissions, enrollment, and school activities. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us using the information below and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
5. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your session, and analyze traffic. You can control cookies through your browser settings. For a full description of the cookies we use and how to manage them, please review our Cookie Policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal and record-keeping obligations, and to resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
